Kuehl, Charles Sr. #3 (1 NOV 1863 - 14 JUL 1954)
Chas. Kuehl Sr., a resident of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) for 56 years, passed away at his home there on July 14th at the age of 90 years.
Mr. Kuehl, who was born in Germany, came to America in 1880 and spent four years in New Holstein before coming to Thorp where he worked for L. O Garrison & Co. In 1898 he went to Withee and operated the store known as the Withee Mercantile Co., which was formed by Messrs. Garrison and Kuehl and which the latter owned for many years.
In Sept. 1902, he was united in marriage to Anna Mattson at Withee, who with two sons, Charles Jr. and George, both of Madison, Survive him.
He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge of Thorp for over fifty years and a past director of the State Bank of Withee.
