A very pretty wedding took place at eleven o’clock Mass, on Saturday morning, July 17^th, 1954, at Our Lady of Victory Church in Chicago, when Miss Julia Burzynski, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Burzynski, became the bride of Joseph Leganski, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Leganski of Chicago.

The church was beautifully decorated with white carnations and gladiolas, arches and a white carpet.  The Rev. Walter Morris performed the double ring ceremony.  The bride was given in marriage by her father.  She was dressed in a gown of lace and nylon tulle with a long lace edged train.  Her fingertip veil was fastened to a Queen’s crown of rhinestones and pearls.  She carried a bouquet of white tea roses, centered with an orchid.  She wore rhinestone earrings and a white gold wrist watch, a gift from the groom.

During the solemn part of the ceremony, while the choir sang, the bride, assisted by the maid of honor, placed a bouquet of white carnations at the altar of Blessed Virgin.

The bride chose as her maid of honor her sister, Celia Burzynski.  Her chartreuse gown was lace and net.  She carried a bouquet of yellow tea roses.  Bridesmaids were Emily Burzynski, sister of the bride, and Catherine Leganski, sister of the groom.  Their orchid gowns were identical as that of the maid of honor, and carried bouquets of yellow tea roses and also wore yellow tea roses in their hair.  The bride’s gifts to the girls were rhinestone necklaces and earrings to match.

The groom chose as his best man his brother John Leganski.  The other attendant was Andrew Burzynski, brother of the bride.  The groom and his attendants wore tuxedos of dark trousers and powder blue jackets, with white carnation boutonnieres.  They were presented with wallets, gifts of the groom.

The bride’s mother wore an orchid dress, and the groom’s mother wore a blue lace dress.  Both mothers wore corsages of yellow tea roses.

The reception was held at 6:30 in the evening at Banicki Hall, for about 300 guests.  Casey Liewerski furnished the music.

The newlyweds left on a three week honeymoon trip to Colorado and Wisconsin and will make their home in Chicago, Ill.

Out of town guests at the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. John Burzynski, Emily and Edmund Burzynski of Thorp, Wis., and Mr. and Mrs. Ted Liszewski and family of Stanley, Wis.
