Jacobs, Myron (Disastrous Fire-March 15,
1911)
On Wednesday morning of last week Myron Jacobs was the victim of a disastrous fire. He occupied the H.M. Root farm west of the city, and early in the morning the farm house caught fire from the chimney. On account of the high wind, nothing could be done to check the flames, and the house and all farm buildings were completely destroyed. The children, sick with the measles, were taken from the burning house through window, and Mr. Jacobs received very severe burns. The stock was all saved from the barn with the exception of one calf. There was no insurance on household goods or farm machinery.
