Meyer, Casper (May 12, 1822-April 18,
1911)
Casper Meyer was born in France on May 12, 1822 and died Tuesday at the home of his son, Joseph. Mr. Meyer came to this country when he was 26 years of age, returned to France after two years and then again came back, locating at Roxbury, N.Y. In 1855 he was united in marriage to Mary Ann Knable and to this union ten children were born, seven of whom survive. He located at Arcadia, Wis., in 1857 and engaged in farming for twenty years. About ten years ago he came to Neillsville and made his home with his son. Mr. Meyer was a pleasant and affable old gentleman and he lived a clean and honorable life. The children surviving him are: Andrew of Minneapolis; Lena Smith of Ironwood, Mich.; Joseph and Maggie Reitzel of this city; Casper of Frazee, Minn.; Regina Schuette and Caroline Meyer of Calumet, Mich. The funeral will be held this morning at 10 o’clock at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
