Mayer, Louise (Marriage - 9 April
1953)
Miss Louise Mayer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tony
Mayer of Humbird and William Genteman, Jr. son of Mr. and Mrs.
William Genteman, Sr., of Neillsville were married April 9, 1953 at
9:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Fairview, Wis.,
with Father Bofenkamp performing the double ring
ceremony.
White lilies were used as decorations in the
house and church.
The
bride’s father, gave her away.
Her
gown was made of white satin with full gathered skirt and circular
train of satin. The yoke of the dress was of embroidered net lace
and long sleeves extended over the wrists. A full length
illusion veil edged in old lace and held by a pearl beaded halo of
red roses and white hyacinths completed her gown.
Her
maid of honor was her sister, Marie Mayer, who was dressed in a
Nile green satin gown and carried a colonial bouquet. The
best man was Norman Mayer, brother of the bride.
Flower girl was Lorraine Mayer, sister of the
bride.
The
wedding reception took place at the home of the bride’s
parents at 2:00 p.m. with the rooms decorated in pink and
white.
The
bride was graduated from the Humbird High School and the groom from
the Neillsville High School.
A prenuptial shower was given the young couple by Mrs. Herman Mayer, Mrs. Joe Mayer and Mrs. George Dimmitt at the home of the bride’s parents in Humbird.
