A. C. Nielsen lost one of his horses Monday while on the way to Owen's mill. Horses are valuable at present, but it might have happened to someone to whom the loss would have been felt more.
A new blacksmith shop is being erected on Division street by parties from Thorp.
Our watchmaker, E. E. Nielsen has been compelled to discontinue his weekly trip to Greenwood. Work for him is now sent by the stage.
The Withee Bros. band has been reorganized of late. The members have taken hold with renewed energy. They are practicing national airs of different nations at present.
A large crowd of good Republicans are going to Longwood this evening (Tuesday) to hear Hon. Geo. Jacques of Neillsville.
Geo. B. Parkhill of Thorp, will speak at the Woodman Hall next Saturday. We have had no Democratic speakers here this fall and do not expect any as the Democrats are too few in number to amount to much.
