Kuenkel, William (90^th - 23 May 1953) 
 

William Kuenkel celebrated his 90^th birthday Saturday, May 23, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Tillie Modersohn.  The following guests were present: Mr. and Mrs. Art Wegner, Mrs. Bud Struble, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Wegner and son Wayne, and Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Kuenkel and daughter Irene, Shirley and La Verne Ulesich, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Marg and family, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Kuenkel and son, Alfred, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Timmler, Mr. and Mrs. Pete Zagar, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Grap, and Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Ritter and family of Stanley. 
 

He was presented with two beautiful birthday cakes and lots of cards and nice gifts.  He expressed thanks to everyone for the nice gifts and cards he received.  He is well known in this community as Grandpa Kuenkel.  He told many a story about his life in Germany to his guests.
