Anderson, Elaine Selma (19 September 1916 - 1
November 2009)
Elaine S. Anderson, age 93, of Hayward, formerly
of Thorp, passed away on November 1, 2009 at Hayward Nursing Home
in Hayward.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday,
November 19, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran
Church in Stanley with the Rev. Curt Rohland officiating. There
will be no visitation.
Elaine Selma Bodenburg was born on September 19,
1916 in Phillips, WI to Roy and Irma (Buege) Bodenburg and was
educated at area schools.
After graduating from high school, Elaine
attended Normal School where she earned her teaching certification.
She then taught school at Phillips area schools. She was
united in marriage to Henry G. Anderson on June 21, 1941 at St.
John’s Lutheran Church in Phillips. Together, they
moved to various cities and raised their give
children.
In
her spare time, Elaine loved to play piano, play bridge with her
friends, do cross-stitching, and especially loved being a
"Mom." She was always willing to volunteer and help at church
activities.
Elaine is survived by three children: David
(Mary) Anderson of Hayward, WI, Christine Anderson of Brookfield,
WI, and Peter (Sandy) Anderson of Dublin, OH; five grandchildren:
Tim Erickson, Andy Erickson, and David Anderson all of Eau Claire,
WI, Eric (Connie) Anderson of Anchorage, AK, and Karen (Gary)
Gillis of Hayward, WI; six great-grandchildren: Brynn, Holly
Morgan, Kyra, Hayden and Landon; and one great-great-grandchild,
Max; one sister-in-law, Jean Bodenburg of Phillips, WI; nieces,
nephews, and many friends.
She
was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry; two
children: Charles H. Anderson and Susan Erickson; and three
brothers: Richard Bodenburg, Albert Bodenburg, and Roland
Bodenburg.
