Lewis, Charlotte (18 SEP 1954)
Charlotte Lewis, granddaughter of Mrs. Joseph Ogorzalek of Lublin (Taylor Co., Wis.), became the bride of Cpl Louis Turek, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Turek of Gilman, in a ceremony performed by Father Dzurko at SS peter & Paul Church at Gilman at 10:00 High Mass on Sept. 18th, 1954.
The bride was beautifully attired in a floor length gown of embroidered tulle and net over satin fashioned with fitted bodice, long tapering sleeves and Queen Ann collar. She wore a bouffant overskirt of embroidery over tulle. A tiara of seed pearls and brilliants held her fingertip veil of imported illusion silk. Her wedding bouquet was set off with an orchid surrounded by Stephanotis.
Beatrice Meyers of Stanley, maid of honor, wore a lime green waltz length dress styled with a strapless lace bodice and a fitted jacket. The skirt was net over satin.
Virginia Swiontek of Thorp and Janice Mororend of Gilman, her bridesmaids, wore identical dresses of copen blue. Their headpieces were made of matching net with yellow pompoms, and they carried colonial bouquets of yellow pompoms.
The groom was attended by his brother, Edward Turek as best man of Gilman, and Jerry Lang of Sheldon. Leon Turek of Belvidere, Ill., served as usher.
Both bride and groom are residents of Gilman, where they attended the public schools.
After the ceremony the wedding breakfast was served at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Turek and the reception took place at Marion’s Hall near Lublin.
The newlyweds are spending their honeymoon in Missouri and after discharge of the groom from the army they will reside in Gilman.
Out of town guests for the occasion were Mr. and Mrs. Ted Turek and Mr. and Mrs. Leon Turek of Belvidere, Ill., Mrs. Wm. Bruch of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Turek of Jump River, Mrs. Joseph Ogorzalek of Lublin, Mrs. Ed Meyers and Mrs. Hugh brown of Stanley and Mr. and Mrs. Al Jalowitz of Cameron, Wis.
