Mrs. John Trinkner, 82, a former resident of the
Town of Levis, died Sunday afternoon, June 14, at the Oak Forest
Sanitarium at Onalaska, where she had been for the past two months.
She had been ill for several years.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, June
17, at 9:00 a.m. from St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Fr.
Peter Leketas officiating. Burial was in St. Mary’s
Cemetery.
Mrs. Trinkner was born at De Pere, Wis., in 1871,
although her exact birth date is unknown, as are the names of her
parents.
She
was married to John Trinkner at De Pere and they lived on a farm in
the Town of Levis until her husband’s death. She then
went to La Crosse to make her home at St. Joseph’s home for
the aged.
Mrs. Trinkner was a member of St. Mary’s
Catholic Church.
One
brother, Lewis Smit of De Pere and two sisters, Mrs. John
VanVonderin, De Pere, and Mrs. Frank Dhooga of Ashland, survive
her.
A
general Rosary service was said Tuesday evening at 9:00 p.m. at the
Bergemann Funeral Home.
* I got her given name from her husband’s obituary.
