Sonderegger, William (28 May 1888 - 28 August
1953)
Funeral services for William Sonderegger, 65, of
Route 1 Greenwood, who died suddenly of a heat attack Friday,
August 28, were held Monday at the Zion Evangelical and Reformed
Church. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery. The Rev.
Jack Grether of Neillsville officiated.
Pallbearers were: Ted Abel, William Bartelt,
Eugene Nolan, Alex Mortex, Henry Langfeldt and Hal Voight of
Loyal. Mrs. Daniel Olson, Virginia Wehrman, Joyce Meyer, Jean
Braun and Robert Unger, accompanied by Jeanette Busch,
sang.
Mr.
Sonderegger was born May 28, 1888, in Berneck, Switzerland.
He came to the United States in 1907 to Buffalo County, where he
was employed as a Swiss Cheesemaker. He was married in 1910
to Julia Rude in Lafayette County. They came 38 years ago to
a farm north of Loyal and lived there 17 years. Then they
moved 21 years ago to the present farm six miles northwest of
here.
He
is survived by his wife, four sons, Clarence, James and Arthur of
Greenwood and Robert of Kaukauna, and one daughter, Mrs. Clarence
(Inez) Langfeldt of Wausau; 10 grandchildren, one sister, Mrs.
Edwin Hohl of Greenwood, and a brother, Fritz in Switzerland.
A daughter, Margaret, and a brother Jake, preceded him in
death.
