Reinart, Mrs. Clarence (Cows -
1953)
5,000 Farmers and 20 Cows on Hands - Mrs. Clarence Reinart, the New PMA Manager, finds No Vacation Time - With about 5,000 farmers and 20 cows on their hands, the Clarence Reinarts have their trouble to work out any sort of vacation. Mrs. Reinart is the new office manager of the PMA in Neillsville and her husband runs a dairy farm near Shortville. Mrs. Reinart has two weeks due her each year as a vacation, and, except for a house and a husband to care for, she could go gallivanting in those two weeks. But when she might thus enjoy herself, with the 5,000 farmers temporarily off her hands, up comes the cows for consideration, with 20 more young stock to boot. Their cows are like all other cows in Clark County - none of them is provided with a shut-off valve. So there has to be some person to milk them, and who will it be? In these tight days for help, the Reinarts would like an answer for that. So in vacation time they work. (rest of the article is missing. Dmk)
