Dobes, Frank (1953)
Sheriff Frank Dobes has been awarded a certificate by Gov. Walter Kohler for his part in developing and operating a state-wide attack warning system. He is one of 82 men thus honored. A part of the civil defense set-up, the attack warning system is the channel through which warning of attack will be received in Wisconsin from the air force and relayed to county seats, and thence to political subdivisions and on to the general public.
