Harry W. Struensee, 76, Neillsville, passed away peacefully on Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, with his family and his beloved dog by his side. His wishes were that no funeral services be held.

Harry William Struensee was born on Sept. 5 1933, in Neillsville, to Edward and Irene (nee Metcalf) Struensee. He was raised and received his education in the Neillsville area. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1953, during the Korean War, and served his in Panama. When he returned home, he went to work in the Chevrolet plant in Janesville, while attending vocational school to achieve his aircraft mechanic’s license. In 1961, he married Isabelle Langreck. She preceded him in death in 1977. He went to work for Ozark Airlines in St. Louis, Mo., in 1962, and transferred to various airlines during his career, ending in Minneapolis, Minn., working for TWA until retiring in 1998. He married Rhoda Roehl on Feb. 27, 1998, in Miami, Fla. He was an avid walleye fisherman, enjoying his many trips to Canada and South Dakota, and truly enjoyed the outdoors, especially his gardening.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Rhonda, Neillsville; two stepchildren, Aaron Gorst and Katie Gorst, both at home; one granddaughter, McKayla; one brother, Calvin (Annie) Struensee, Miami Springs, Fla.; and one nephew, Michael Struensee, Dallas, Texas.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his first wife, Isabelle; and a brother, Dennis Struensee, in 1975.
