Rudoll, William (17 JUL 1947-13 NOV 2009)
William A. Rudoll, 62, Greenwood, died on Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, at William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital, Madison. Visitation will be held on Friday, Nov. 20 from 10 a.m. until the time of a celebration of life at 11 a.m. at Cuddie Funeral Home. Loyal. Burial of cremains will take place following the service, in the Loyal Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the American Legion Post #175.
William Allen Rudoll was born on July 17, 1947, in Rockford, Ill., to Wallace and Norine "Pat" (nee Forry) Rudoll. When he was 5, his family moved to a farm south of Loyal, where he was raised and received his education, graduating from Loyal High School in 1965. After high school, he spent one year at UW-River Falls pursuing a law degree before being drafted into the U.S. Army on Nov. 21, 1967. He returned to Loyal after his honorable discharge on Nov. 12, 1970, and went to work at Rollohome, Marshfield. He married Susan M. Walgenbach on June 6, 1971, in Marshfield. They lived on his family farm and he continued to work at Rollohome until it closed. He then went to work for Bernie Lindgren, as a carpenter, for several years, until the opening of the Weather Shield window plant, Greenwood, in the late 1980s. He worked there until retiring in 2007, to take care of his ailing wife. He was a member of the Loyal American Legion Legion Post #175 and had many interests, but especially loved the Packers, western movies, making maple syrup and fishing in his younger years.
He will be dearly missed by his two children, Michell Lea Rudoll, Milwaukee, and Brian Lee (Paula) Rudoll, Wisconsin Rapids; one grandson, Jackson Rudoll; one granddaughter, Jayden Marie Rudoll; and one brother, James A. (Rosemary) Rudoll, Neillsville.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and his wife, Susan, on Feb. 3, 2009.
