Polzin, Leonard C. (October 29, 1912 - November 10, 2009)
Leonard C. Polzin, age 97, formerly of Bloomer, passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2009, at the Inn Care of Abbotsford.
He was born October 29, 1912, in Keystone, to Ferdinand and Augusta (Waldofski) Polzin.
He received his education in Keystone. He married Olga Buchholtz and together they worked as a butler and maid for a family in Chicago, IL. They moved to Crystal Lake, IL, when he worked on a large dairy farm. They then moved to Janesville where he worked or General Motors and after retirement, they moved to Harlingen, TX.
After Olga’s death, Leonard married Charlotte Bredvik. They spent time in Texas before moving to Bloomer.
Leonard loved golfing and traveling. After Charlotte’s death, he lived with his brother Bernard and Lois Polzin. The last ten years of his life he resided at the Inn Care of Abbotsford.
He is survived by one brother, Lester (Izzy) Polzin of Alaksa; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ferdinand and Augusta; his wives, Olga and Charlotte; two brothers, Milo and Bernard; and on sister, Irma Marquardt.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 14, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bloomer. Interment was in the Bloomer Cemetery.
Friends called from 9 a.m. until the time of services on Saturday at St. Paul’s Church. There was no visitation Friday evening. Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer was in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed at olsonfunerhomebloomer.com
Leonard’s family would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff at Inn Care and Hospice, St. Joseph’s Hospital of Marshfield, for their loving care and companionship. Special thanks also goes to Pastor Paul Hunsicker of Christ Lutheran Church for his many visits and special prayers.
