ABBOTSFORD -- Michael A "Mike" Cornell, 61, of Abbotsford, formerly of Medford died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. 
 

A memorial service is being tentatively planned by his wife, Mary, and his family for Nov. 14 at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford. 
 

A complete obituary including service time and date will run in a later edition of the newspaper. 
 

The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home of Abbotsford is assisting Mike's family with all arrangements.

ABBOTSFORD -- Michael A. "Mike" Cornell, 61, of Abbotsford, formerly of Medford, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. 
 

A celebration of Mike's life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of services Saturday at the funeral home in Abbotsford. Private committal services will take place at a later time. 
 

Mike was born Oct. 29, 1948, in Roswell, N.M., the son of Richard and Viola (Niemitz) Cornell. Because his father was in the military and had to travel, Mike received his education in various places. He married the former Mary Mueller on July 17, 1999, in Perkinstown near Medford. Mike had worked for various companies engaged in TV tower repair and currently was working as a machinist for Weather Shield of Medford. Mike was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting deer -- both during the gun and bow season. Mike loved to socialize with family and friends. 
 

Mike is survived by his wife, Mary, of Abbotsford; his children, Lynn (Phillip) Brannan of Georgia, Mark (Kris) Vanderheiden of Pensacola, Fla., Chris (Lori) Mueller of Chili, Angela Hansen of Owen, Elizabeth Hartl of Abbotsford, Ryen Ankey of Green Bay and Britney (Shawn) Anderson of Dorchester; and 16 grandchildren. 
 

Michael is further survived by his parents, Richard and Viola Cornell of Orlando, Fla.; his mother-in-law, Marie Mueller of Colby; and his long-time companion -- his dog "Missie." 
 

Mike was preceded in death by his sister, Joyce; his grandparents, Hazel and Hank Miller; and his long-time friend, Randy Ogle.
