Isadore Joseph (6 May 1924 - 3 Nov. 2009)
Isadore
Joseph Umlauft Sr., 85, of Marshfield, died Tuesday evening, Nov.
3, 2009, at the Bethel Nursing Center with his family by his side
and under the tender care of Ministry Home Hospice.
Funeral
services will be held at noon Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, at the
Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home, Marshfield. The Rev. Tricia Turner
will officiate. Isadore's grandchildren will have the honor of
being pallbearers.
A time of
visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of service at the
Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Brooklawn
Memory Gardens. American Legion Post No. 54 will conduct military
honors.
Isadore was
born May 6, 1924, in Dorchester, the son of Joseph and Elizabeth
(Ulrich) Umlauft. He graduated from Dorchester High School in 1943.
Isadore served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was
employed at Wisconsin Homes, retiring in 1989.
He was
united in marriage to the Lucille Augustine on June 10, 1952, at
St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Green Grove.
Isadore was
a world class rock collector and very proud of the fact that one of
his rocks is at the Smithsonian Museum. He also made jewelry and
watch bands with rocks he collected. Isadore was a 40-year member
of the Heart of Wisconsin Gem and Mineral Society and was an avid
roller skater.
Isadore is
lovingly survived by his children, Myrna (Leonard) Shaw, Vesper,
Isadore Jr. (Sheila) Umlauft, Auburndale, Larry Umlauft, Eau
Claire, Star (Paul) Anacker, Wisconsin Rapids, and Renee (Rick
Engevold) Schmitt, Marshfield. He is further survived by eight
grandchildren, Kevin, Loren and Michael Shaw, Krisan (Paul)
Shaw-Laube, Kimberly (Evan) Napper, and Ashley, Travis and Kristina
Schmitt. Isadore is also survived six great-grandchildren, Jordan
and Alison Laube, Jaidyn Napper, and Cameron, Katrina and Conner
Schmitt. He is further survived by many other family and
friends.
Isadore was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lucille; and his parents.
