Naomi S.
Roehl, 98, of Marshfield, died Nov. 4, 2009, at the Golden
LivingCenter-Three Oaks, with her family by her side.
Funeral
services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, at Zion
United Methodist Church, Marshfield. The Rev. Michael Carlson will
officiate. Jean Roehrborn will provide music with Duane Helgerson
serving as soloist. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery, with
Mrs. Roehl's grandchildren serving as pallbearers.
A time of
visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at the
Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home, Marshfield, and one hour prior to
service time at the church Monday.
Mrs. Roehl
was born March 27, 1911, in Chili, a daughter of Adolph and Bertha
(Schilling) Foemmel. She attended Cozy Corner School.
The former
Naomi Foemmel was united in marriage Aug. 28, 1929, at the
Evangelical Church in Chili to Glen H. Roehl. They had celebrated
their golden wedding anniversary in 1979. Glen preceded Naomi in
death June 27, 1982.
The couple
operated various farms in the Chili area until 1956, when they
moved into Marshfield. In addition, Mrs. Roehl was employed at
Saint Joseph's Hospital until retiring in 1973.
Naomi
cherished the time she could spend with her grandchildren, often
baby-sitting for them when they were young.
She also
enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, family get-togethers and
dining out, and activities with her UMW friends.
Mrs. Roehl
was a lifelong member of Zion United Methodist Church and member of
the United Methodist Women.
She is
lovingly survived by her children, Vivian (Herman) Zemke of
Surprise, Ariz., Arvella (Gerald) Bores of Stratford, Everett
(Dolores) Roehl of Marshfield, Kenneth Roehl of Marshfield, Delores
(Charles) Schueller of Marshfield, Harlyn Roehl of Middleville,
Mich., and Dinah (Jack) Holland of Marshfield; 22 grandchildren, 44
great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
Her sisters,
Lydia Zimmerman of Marshfield and Esther King of Coloma, further
survive Naomi.
Besides her
parents and husband, Glen, brothers, Paul, Samuel and Silas
Foemmel, preceded Naomi in death.
