Nenahlo, Marie (Marriage - 12 May
1954)
Miss Marie Nenahlo of Neillsville, Rt. 4,
daughter of Charles Nenahlo of Kewaunee, and Leo Shefchik, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Shefchik of Loyal, were married Wednesday, May 12,
1954, at 9 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Neillsville with Fr.
Peter Leketas performing the double ring
ceremony.
The
bride, given in marriage by her uncle Alex Poziombke wore a dress
with a white lace bodice and a net yoke. Her satin skirt was
complimented by a net overskirt with lace inserts. She
carried a bouquet of white gladioli and red
roses.
Her
maid-of-honor, Evelyn Beyerl, was dressed in orchid and carried a
bouquet of yellow gladioli.
Peter Beyerl attended the groom as best
man.
Following the ceremony a reception was held at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alex Poziombke for approximately 25
guests. The home was decorated with orchid and white
streamers and a large wedding cake was the centerpiece of the
bridal table.
The
bride received her education at the Holy Rosary School at Kewaunee
and is employed at the Merchants Hotel in Neillsville. She
has been making her home with her uncle and aunt for the past year
and one half.
The
groom is a graduate of the Loyal High School and is engaged in
farming.
Guests from Colby, Loyal, Neillsville and Manitowoc were present.
