Hemp, Marian (Marriage - 26 June
1954)
Miss Marian Hemp, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman
Hemp, and Fred Vornholt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Vornholt, 1108
Prospect St. Neillsville, were married June 26, 1954, at a 2 p.m.
ceremony which took place at the Emanuel Lutheran Church of Globe,
with the Rev. A. Schumann performing the double ring ceremony
before an altar decorated with gladioli, peonies, roses and sweet
peas.
The
bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a Chantilly lace,
waltz-length dress, with the collar and yoke outlined with seed
pearls. Her bouquet was made up of a white orchid with a
purple throat and pink roses.
Mrs. Robert Hemp served as her matron of honor
and wore a waltz-length dress of net taffeta with a lace bolero in
yellow.
The
bridesmaids, Ardith Suckow, Gladys Dux and Mary Pflughoeft, wore
orchid dresses identical to that of the matron of
honor.
The
groom was attended by A/1c Robert Hemp of Riverside, Calif., and
William Seif as best men. Louis Hoffman and Ronald Klann
ushered.
A
reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents for
approximately 80 guests. The home was decorated in orchid and
yellow.
The
bride is a graduate of the local high school and has employment in
the office of the county treasurer. The groom is also a
graduate of the Neillsville High School and is employed at the
Neillsville Oil Co. station.
Guests from Mosinee, Minneapolis, Chicago and Milwaukee attended the wedding.
