Hazuga, Kathleen M. (6 NOV 1954)

St. Bernard’s Catholic Church at Thorp was the setting for the wedding of Kathleen Marie Hazuga, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Hazuga of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), and William Risinger of Madison.

The nuptial ceremony was performed by Rev. Michael Mertens (uncle of the bride) at 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 6, 1954 before the altar decorated with yellow and brown chrysanthemums.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, was attired in a waltz length white strapless Chantilly lace gown with matching jacket.  The gown was fashioned with a fitted bodice, lace peplum effect and the skirt edged in nylon tulle.

The maid of honor, Lorraine Hazuga, sister of the bride, wore a waltz length, princess style rust colored taffeta strapless dress with matching bolero.  The bridesmaid, Margaret Mertens, aunt of the bride had a gown fashioned identically to that of the maid of honor in an emerald green color.  They both carried bouquets of yellow chrysanthemums.

The groom was attended by John Hazuga of Thorp, brother of the bride, as best man.

A wedding dinner was served at 12 o’clock to guests numbering 125 at the American Legion Hall at Thorp.

After a brief honeymoon the young couple are at home at Madison, Wis. where the groom is a student at the University.
