Rataiczyk, Anton (8 JUN 1885 - 24 NOV 1954)

Anton Rataiczyk died sometime during the night of Nov. 24th, 1954 at his home in the city of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), the victim of a heart attack.  He was 69 years of age.

Mr. Rataiczyk, although he had not been feeling well of late, was always hale and hearty and about the city each day.  His death came as a great shock to his many friends who will miss his friendly greetings.

The deceased was born in Warsaw, Poland on June 8, 1885.  Coming to this country while yet a young man, he was united in marriage to Stella Golimowski at Blue Island, Ill., on July 13, 1908.  They came to Thorp in 1909 and settled on a farm in the Town of Hixon.  About nine years ago he purchased the small Stroinski farm on the north edge of the city limits where he resided until 1950.  Retiring from farming the family moved to the village of Thorp about 4 years ago.  Mrs. Rataiczyk passed away in March 1952.

He is survived by one son, Tony Rataiczyk Jr. of Chicago, three daughters, Mary, Mrs. Wallace Dobrzynski and Miss Viola Rataiczyk, of Thorp, and Helen, Mrs. Edward Mateja of River Grove, Ill., one brother, Steve Rataiczyk of Cicero, Ill., one sister, Mrs. Mary Loch of Chicago.

Funeral services were held Saturday morning at St. Hedwig’s Chapel in the city with requiem Mass said by Rev. Father Francis Piekarski at 10:00 o’clock.  Interment followed in St. Hedwig’s Cemetery.  Pallbearers were Adam Lesniewski, Eddie Polnaszek, Peter Jenkot, Stanley Zawacki, Joseph Tobola and Joseph Sopiarz.
