Steinke, Herman Carl (11 Feb. 1904 - 23 Jan. 1958) 
 

Herman Carl Steinke, 54, died at his home at Medford Thursday, Jan. 23, following a heart attack. Funeral services were held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Ruesch Funeral home, Medford, with internment following in the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran church cemetery at Green Grove. The Rev. M. K. Weiss officiated at the rites. 
 

Mr. Steinke was born at Mayville in Clark county on Feb. 11, 1904, and spent his early years there. In 1940 he was married to Esther Bachmeier at Dubuque, Iowa. He came to Medford in 1952 and was employed at the Hurd Millwork Corporation. He was a member of the Faith Evangelical Center at Medford. 
 

Surviving him are his widow, sons, Ervin, 14, Kerlyn, 8, a step son, Leor, 20, all at home, and the following brothers and sisters: William, Curtiss; Arthur, Colby; Mrs. Ted Hoeft, Chippewa Falls; Mrs. Fred Daellenbach and a half sister, Mrs. Conrad Kramer, Abbotsford; and a niece, Mrs. Ed Sitzberger, Marshfield. 
 

One son and two sisters preceded him in death.
