Holt, Bette (Marriage - 6 November
1954)
Miss Bette Holt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl
Holt of Greenwood, and Robert Wilsmann, son of Mr. and Mrs. William
Wilsmann, Sr., of Neillsville were married November 6, 1954, at St.
John’s Lutheran Church in Neillsville. The Rev. Alfred
Schewe, pastor of the church, performed the double ring ceremony
before an altar decorated with yellow chrysanthemums.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore
a gown which featured a fitted bodice of Chantilly lace over satin,
with long tapered lace sleeves that buttoned at the wrists and a
tiny stand-up collar. The skirt was made with tiers of nylon net
over white slipper satin. White carnations and red roses
formed her bouquet.
Miss Cheryl Mabie served as her maid of honor and
wore a strapless ballerina length dress in yellow nylon with
matching accessories. Her bridesmaid, Mrs. Franklin Gault,
wore a lavender dress styled like that of the maid of honor.
Both attendants carried colonial bouquets.
The groom was attended by James Holt, brother of
the bride, as best man, and Franklin Gault, as groomsman.
Armand Wachholz and William Wilsmann, Jr., ushered. Junior
usher was Richard Holt, brother of the bride.
A
reception was held at Becker’s party room for 150
guests. The room was decorated in yellow and lavender,
centered by a four-tiered wedding cake.
The young couple will make their home on the west
side of Neillsville.
