Funeral
services for Mrs. Elmer Cornelius, 44, of Marshfield, who died at
St. Joseph’s hospital at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, will be held
Friday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at Emmanuel Lutheran church,
Marshfield. The body is lying in state at the Hansen Funeral Home
at Marshfield.
Ardyce
Goldamer was born at Abbotsford Nov. 12, 1913, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. A. R. Goldamer. She attended schools here and was graduated
from the Abbotsford high school with the class of 1932. She
employed as a telephone operator prior to her marriage to Elmer
Cornelius June 22, 1935.
They lived
in Abbotsford, where Mr. Cornelius and his father operated
Duke’s Bar and Bowling Lanes, until about seven years ago
when the business was sold. They moved to Marshfield where they
built and operated Duke’s Motel.
Mrs.
Cornelius became seriously ill last November but had periods of
improvement. She was re-admitted to the hospital Sunday
night.
Surviving
are her husband and two adopted sons, Tom 10, and Charles 6, of
Marshfield; her father, A. R. Goldamer, brother, Robert, and two
sisters, Mrs. H. C. (Audrey) Christensen, Mrs. H. C. (Elaine)
Speck, all of Abbotsford.
Her mother preceded her in death in July, 1954. A year old adopted son, Rex, also preceded her in death.
