Matt Werner,
77, who lived in a trailer house in Abbotsford, died Monday
afternoon of burns suffered in a gas stove explosion early Saturday
morning.
Werner was
preparing his breakfast when the stove exploded. He suffered second
and third degree burns to his head, hands and arms. He managed to
escape from the trailer, which caught fire, and aroused a neighbor
who took him to a doctor. He was later taken to St. Joseph’s
hospital, Marshfield, where he died.
Funeral
services will be conducted at 2:30 this afternoon at the Zink
Funeral Home. The Rev. Lawrence Faivre of the Presbyterian church
will conduct the rites and burial will be made in the Abbotsford
cemetery.
Mr. Werner is survived by an adopted son, Leonard, Waupun, and a brother who lives at Green Bay. His wife preceded him in death in 1953.
