Brooks, John

Funeral
services for John Vanden Brooks, 87, Abbotsford, who died at St.
Joseph’s hospital, Marshfield, Saturday, were held at 1:30
Tuesday at the Ruesch Funeral home at Medford. Arnold Ruprich
conducted the rites and burial was made in Evergreen
cemetery.
He was born
in Holland on Dec. 28, 1870, and came to Taylor county in 1901.
From 1920 until 1938 he operated a farm in the town of Browning.
For the past 10 years, he had lived in Abbotsford.
His marriage
to Louise Diedow took place at Sheboygan Falls on Sept, 15, 1896.
She preceded him in death. Only survivors are a brother, Henry, Los
Angeles, Calif., and a sister, Mrs. Julius Klabunde,
Medford.
Among those from here who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. F. A. Haack, Mrs. Helena Woempner, Abbotsford; Mrs. Warren Lewis, Spencer; and Mrs. Bertha Lapp, Dorchester.
