Barker, Mr./Mrs. Seth (50th Anniv. - 14 June 1958)

Mr. and Mrs. Seth Barker celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, June 14. Relatives and friends gathered at the V.F.W. hall at Medford at 2:00 o’clock for the reception and supper was served at 4:30 for about 100 guests.

A large, three tiered wedding cake decorated with yellow roses and a 50 year emblem at the top, centered the honored couple’s table. The Rev. F. H. Sprengler offered a short prayer for the occasion.

Mrs. Barker and her attendants wore gifted yellow carnation corsages and Mr. Barker and his attendant had yellow gifted carnation boutonnieres.

At the time they were married on June 10, 1908, Mrs. Fred Peters, Fond du Lac, and Walter Sprague, Stevens Point, were their attendants. Neither one could be present for the celebration, due to ill health. Mrs. Alvina Marlowe, Monroe, and Henry Malchow, of Medford, were the substitute attendants. June 10 also marks the 81st birthday anniversary of Mr. Barker.

Music was furnished for dancing, in the afternoon and evening by Dennis ?’s orchestra, of Medford.
