Mrs. Alvina
Miller and daughter, Mrs. Willard Becherer and her daughter, Marie,
left Monday for Madison where Marie underwent plastic surgery on
her nose which was broken in an accident in May. Marie will be
discharged from the hospital about Thursday and will stay at
Madison with Mrs. Eda Jolivette, while she undergoes clinical
treatment. Mrs. Miller and Mrs. Becherer were over night guests,
Monday, at the Jolivette home and returned here Tuesday
evening.
Mrs. W. G.
Danielson, Mrs. Arlyn Brunkhorst and Mrs. Ben Laabs spent Wednesday
of last week at Wisconsin Rapids at the William Kozlowski and Dr.
G. G. Shields homes.
Mr. and Mrs.
Donald Armstrong had as their guests, Sunday, her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. J. W. Burkholder, and J. Curtis Burkholder and daughter, of
Hudson.
Mr. and Mrs.
Arthur Peterson and three sons of Rockford, Minnesota, came Saturday
afternoon to get their twin daughters, Barbara and Carol, who had
been staying here with their grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy
Peterson. The family all returned Sunday.
Mrs. C. F.
Rayner and son, Charles, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman
Hoffman, spent last week at a cottage northeast of Rhinelander.
Mrs. Rayner had a week’s vacation from her work at
Wing’s Drug Store.
Walter Lueth
received word of the death of his brother at Manitowoc, Tuesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Lueth went to Manitowoc Wednesday.
Mrs. Alta
Odenwader and Walter Bosworth of Merrill spent Sunday with Mrs. C.
W. Hoffman.
Mr. and Mrs.
Elzoir Myre visited her father, Herman Leverance, at Sacred Heart
hospital, Tomahawk, Monday. He has been a patient there the past
month.
Mr. and Mrs.
Lawrence Weix attended the funeral of her cousin, Donna Mae
Wozniak, at Stanley Tuesday. Donna Mae, 3, fell off a load of
gravel on which she was riding with her father and the wheel
crushed her head.
Mr. and Mrs.
Ralph Remmel and two daughters returned to Kewaskum Saturday
afternoon. They visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Merwin, and
other relatives since Wednesday.
Carrol J.
Hayden, Oneida, N.Y., is visiting at the F. A. Haack home here and
at the Warren Lewis home at Spencer. On Saturday, Mr. and Mrs.
Haack will take him to Milwaukee to visit the Sumner Lewis family,
from where he will leave for his home. Mr. Hayden is a
brother-in-law of Mrs. Haack.
Mrs. J. H.
Gentz, who has been at Shawano, will be here Saturday and Sunday to
dispose of her house and some of her household
things.
Mr. and Mrs.
Clarence Weller and family visited his mother, Mrs. Martha Weller,
at the Bethel Home at Arpin. They went on to Stevens Point to get
Mrs. Ella Schorer, who is spending this week here. She is a house
guest at the Edwin Strade home.
Harry Emling
returned Friday afternoon from Appleton, after spending about two
weeks with Mr. and Mrs. Norman Emling and
daughter.
Mr. and Mrs.
Daniel Laack and children, Danny and Vicky, of Gary, Indiana, came
Saturday to spend a week with his mother, Mrs. Daisy Laack. Miss
Betty Laack, who had spent several weeks in Stockton, Calif., also
returned home Saturday.
Dennis
Manthe has been discharged from St. Joseph’s hospital,
Marshfield. He underwent an appendectomy there Saturday, July 19,
and came home Saturday morning.
Roger Kramer
is attending summer school at Winona, Minn.
Mr. and Mrs.
Ray Danielson and daughter, Joy, of Peoria, Ill., spent the week
end at the W. G. Danielson home. The men are
brothers.
Mrs. Delia
Scheibe, Lake Minnetonka, came Tuesday of last week and is visiting
the Orville Lieders home here and with other relatives and friends
here and at Dorchester. She is on a two weeks’
vacation.
Mr. and Mrs.
Gerry Reeves and family, St. Paul, visited his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Harold Reeves, Sunday, of last week, enroute to a vacation at
Minocqua.
Mr. and Mrs.
John C. Myre and daughter, Jacqueline, of Tomahawk, came Friday
evening and stayed until Sunday afternoon with
relatives.
The birthday
anniversary of Jack Reichersamer was celebrated Sunday. Dinner
guests were Mrs. Ethel Reichersamer, Mr. and Mrs. Royal Archambo,
and Frank and Mrs. Anna Nikolay.
