Niehaus, Virginia (Marriage - 28 November 1954)

A white floor-length bridal gown was worn by Miss Virginia Niehaus, daughter of Mrs. Joseph Niehaus, Marshfield, when she exchanged marriage vows with Floyd Plautz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Plautz, Willard, prior to the 9:00 o’clock Nuptial High Mass Saturday morning, November 28, 1954, at the St. John Catholic Church, Marshfield.  The Rev. Bernard Schretber witnessed the rites and officiated at the mass.

The bride’s gown with Chantilly lace bodice had a Queen Anne collar.  Wide lace panels extended down the front and back of the nylon tulle skirt which was trimmed with a scattering of sequined flowers.  The finger-tip veil was attached to a jeweled crown.  Suspended from the bouquet of white chrysanthemums tied with satin ribbon were streamers of narrow white ribbons, to which were fastened sprigs of stephanotis.

Carrying a basket of red roses and white ‘mums was the little niece of the bride, Patricia Niehaus, Marshfield, who acted as flower girl, attired in a frock designed with lace over taffeta bodice and nylon tulle skirt.

Miss Carol Niehaus, Milwaukee, was maid of honor for her sister.  Mrs. Lynette Drefahl, Marshfield, and Miss Norma Larson, Minneapolis, were bridesmaids.

Paul Plautz, Milwaukee was best man for his brother, another brother, Phillip, Milwaukee, and Stanley Pernic, Chicago, were groomsmen.  Ushers were Gerald Niehaus, Marshfield, a cousin of the bride, and Robert Plautz of Willard, brother of the groom.

A breakfast for the bridal party was served at the home of the bride’s mother.  A dinner and reception were held at Our Lady of Peace dining hall.

The bride, who has been employed in Minneapolis, attended St. John’s High School and was graduated from Marshfield Senior High School.  The groom a graduate of the Greenwood High School is employed by Plautz Brothers, Willard.  They will live in Greenwood.
