Block, Joan
(Marriage - 20 Sept. 1958)
Miss Joan
Block and Ray Miller, Jr., exchanged marriage vows Saturday at 1:30
o’clock at St. John’s Lutheran church, Riplinger.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Harold Block and Mr. and
Mrs. Ray Miller, Colby. Mr. Block gave his daughter in marriage.
For her
wedding, the bride wore a gown of Chantilly lace over satin with a
full ruffled skirt ending in a cathedral train. The lace bodice
featured long sleeves and a modified Sabrina neckline.
A lace hat
detailed with seed pearls and iridescent sequins held her silk
illusion veil. She carried a heart shaped bouquet of purple
orchids, yellow roses and white carnations.
Cotillion
blue in nylon sheer and net over taffeta were worn by her
attendants. Seed pearls trimmed their braided crowns with matching
veils and yellow, white and blue carnations were combined in their
bouquets.
Miss Janice
Kussow was maid of honor; Mrs. John Block and Miss Annette Miller
were bridesmaids.
Jerold
Block, best man, Jerome Kasper and John Block, groomsmen, and Henry
Zitler and Marvin Busse completed the party.
Following
the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of the bride’s
parents, followed by supper in the church hall. In the evening, the
now Mr. and Mrs. Miller greeted friends at a wedding dance at Kolby
Park.
Following a wedding trip to the Black Hills, and California, they will make their home on a farm near Colby.
