Allen,
Barbara (Marriage - 25 Oct. 1958)
A single
ring ceremony was used in the exchange of marriage vows between
Miss Barbara Allen and Robert Nelson, Saturday morning, before the
9:30 nuptial high mass in Holy Rosary Catholic church, Owen. The
Rev. Hubert Crubel was the officiating clergyman.
Parents of
the bridal couple are Mr. and Mrs. Richard Allen, of Owen, and Mrs.
Ben Nelson, of Denver, Colorado.
Attending
the couple were Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Knoll of Stratford,
brother-in-law and sister of the bride.
For her
wedding, the bride wore a waltz length gown of antique peau de soi,
lined with pellon. The fitted bodice had a sweetheart neckline
trimmed with Alencon lace, embroidered with iridescent sequins. Her
elbow length veil of English silk was secured to a silk peau de soi
profile hat. She carried a colonial bouquet of white
mums.
Her matron
of honor wore an empire styled gown of iridescent leaf green
taffeta. Her head dress was a pleated tulle bandeau on velvet
entwined with seed pearls. She carried a colonial bouquet of bronze
mums.
Mrs. Allen
wore a black moiré, taffeta dress with white trim, accented
with a shoulder corsage of white mums. She wore a white hat with
black velvet trim.
Mrs. Mary
Priboda, Marathon, maternal grand mother of the bride, wore a wine
dress and a corsage of white mums.
A reception
and dinner were held in the church dining room.
Mr. and Mrs. Nelson will make their home in Denver, where the groom is employed in government work. The bride is a graduate of St. Mary’s School of Nursing, Wausau.
