Shields,
Mary (Marriage - 25 Oct. 1958)
Miss Mary
Shields, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. G. G. Shields, of Wisconsin
Rapids, and David D. Kurz, son of Mrs. Nora Kurz, exchanged
marriage vows in a double ring ceremony Saturday at S.S. Peter and
Paul’s Catholic church. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. C. W. Gille
witnessed the ceremony at high noon.
The bride
wore a floor length gown of silk peau-de-soi, detailed with
embroidered Alencon lace at the neckline and on the hipline accent
of the full skirt. A fabric hat held her veil of imported illusion.
She carried an orchid with stephanotis on a white prayer
book.
Four friends
served as bridal attendants. They were dressed alike in orchid
crystallette, designed on princess lines with scoop neck and cap
sleeves. Tinted crowns completed their attire. They carried baskets
of deep purple and white pompons with metallic cattails and
wheat.
A luncheon
was served in the church dining hall and a reception was held in
the Palace ballroom.
The bride
attended the Abbotsford schools. The bride and groom are graduates
of Lincoln high school, Wisconsin Rapids. Prior to her marriage,
she was employed in the sales record department of Nekoosa-Edwards
Paper Company, at Port Edwards.
After Nov.
7, the young couple will live at Hunters Point, as Mr. Kurz, AG2,
U.S.N., is stationed aboard the U.S.S. Hancock, CVA-19, with home
port, San Francisco, California.
Attending the wedding from here were Mr. and Mrs. C. T. Dolan and Mrs. Arlyn Brunkhorst.
