Frantz, Gustav E. (5 Dec. 1861 - 5 Nov. 1958) 
 

Gustav E. Frantz, 96, died Nov. 5 at St. Joseph’s hospital, Marshfield. He was born in Germany Dec. 5, 1861, and came to this locality in 1889. He engaged in farming and later was a store keeper. 
 

He served as supervisor for several terms in the town of Hull and was an alderman for the city of Colby for several terms, and he held various offices for Zion Lutheran church. 
 

Surviving him are two sons, Henry and Albert, of Colby; one daughter, Mrs. Karl (Minnie) Sabler, Colby, 11 grand children and 30 great grand children. 
 

Preceding him in death were his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Al (Meta) Goldamer of Abbotsford, and Frida, who died in infancy, and a brother, Albert.
