Bogumill, Leon #2 (20 FEB 1893 - 8 MAR 1955)
Father A. M. Muckerheide conducted services at St. Bernard’s Church here at 9:30 Saturday morning, March 12, for Leon E. Bogumill, 62, who passed away at the Worrell Hospital, Rochester, Minn., on March 8, 1955 after a lingering illness of three years.
Mr. Bogumill, a real estate broker and insurance man, was active in the affairs of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) village and city for many years. He was interested in the Thorp Dairy Co., the Thorp Farmers Store, Rialto Theatre and a partner in the ownership of the Franklin Hotel, Rochester, Minn.
The deceased was born in Thorp on Feb. 20, 1893. He was united in marriage to Helen Dekoskie of Kingston, N.Y. on Jan. 20, 1916.
He was secretary of the Lions Club for several years; belonged to the local Polish National Alliance Group, the Catholic Order of Foresters, Knights of Columbus, was a former member of the Thorp Volunteer Fire Co., served as a public accountant and operated the Thorp Auction Co.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Bernard Frenette, city; a son, William of St. Louis, Mo.; three grandchildren; six sisters, Mrs. Charles Herman, Mrs. Thomas Polnaszek, Mrs. John Huls and Mrs. Robert Blazel, all of this city; Mrs. Stanley Manicke of Hartland, Wis., and Mrs. V. H. Stoker of Madison; and four brothers, John S. and Edward of this city, Thomas of Chicago, Ill., and Frank of Hannibal, Wis.
The Men’s Catholic Order of Foresters of St. Bernard’s Parish and the Knights of Columbus led the Rosary at the Thorp Funeral Home on the evenings of the 10th and 11th.
He was laid to rest in St. Bernard’s Cemetery. Pallbearers were nephews: Gerald Herman, Clyde Misfeldt, Stanley Manicke Jr., Justin Rosemeyer, Edward Polnaszek and Claybourne Bogumill.

Wollum, L. W. Cattanaugh, Owen; Mr. and Mrs. Schoenfeldt, Colby; Mr. and Mrs. Val Connell, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Connell, Mr. and Mrs. James Connell, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Frenette, Gene Frenette, all of Chippewa Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Polnaszek, Milwaukee and members of the Knights of Columbus, Medford.
