Sands, Alicia Mary  (19 FEB 1946-12 DEC 1946)

Alicia Mary Sands was born on Feb. 19, 1946, at Marshfield and died on Dec. 12, at the Rockford hospital, in Rockford, Ill., at the age of 10 months. Death was due to suffocation caused by a small particle of coal lodged in the lower part of her lung.

She began coughing and choking at her home last Wednesday evening, and was immediately rushed to the hospital, where doctors worked in vain for eight hours, trying to find the cause of her distress.

Services were conducted Saturday at the Long-Klontz funeral home in Rockford, with burial in the Greenwood cemetery. The Rev. Milton Merrill of the Court Street Methodist church officiated.

In addition to her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James I. Sands, she is survived by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Oestreich of Loyal and Mr. and Mrs. William Sands of Carmichael, Pa.

Those from out of town who attended the funeral in Rockford, besides the grandparents were Misses Lyla and Mary Oestreich of Milwaukee and Archie Ferguson of Dubuque, Ia.
