St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Stanley was the scene of a pretty spring wedding on Thursday, April 14, 1955, when Miss Valva Jean Karlen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Karlen, became the bride of Vincent D. Pomietlo, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pomietlo, all of Stanley. The 10 o’clock High Mass ceremony was performed by Rev. Ralph Geissler before an altar of Easter lilies and light candles.
