Hmielak, Jane (21 MAY 1955)

Miss Jane Hmielak, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Hmielak of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Eugene Zdroik, son of Mrs. Martha Zdroik of Rosholt, Wis., in a double ring ceremony performed by Rev. Charles Herbers, Headmaster of Newman High School of Wausau, at High nuptial Mass at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church ere at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 21st, 1955.  Sprays of snapdragons adorned the main altar and a bouquet of white and pink carnations was placed at the altar of the Blessed Virgin.

The couple was attended by Anthony Cieslewicz of Rosholt, as best man, and Jo Hmielak, sister of the bride, as bridesmaid.  Another attending couple was Mr. and Mrs. Maynard Zdroik of Rosholt.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was attired in a gown of embroidered white nylon tulle over taffeta, with short sleeves, point collar and matching gauntlets.  She wore a tiara of sequin stars and seed pearls and fingertip veil.

Her attendant, Miss Jo Hmielak and Mrs. Zdroik wore identical dresses of embroidered nylon organdy over aqua blue taffeta with swelf sashes, short sleeves and scoop necklines.  They carried sprays of white and yellow daisies with ivy and wore an ivy band in their hair.

The bride’s mother was attired in light blue linen with white accessories and the groom’s mother wore a rose-beige lace dress.  Both wore corsages of symbidium orchids.

The wedding breakfast was served at St. Hedwig’s Hall to immediate relatives and friends, with music furnished by the uncle of the bride, Alois Ciolkosz, and the reception and dinner was given at 5:30, attended by about 300 people.

The bride is a graduate of Thorp High School and St. Mary’s School of Nursing of Wausau, and has been employed at the Veterans Administration at Wood, Wis.  The groom graduated from Rosholt High School and is farming.

The happy couple are spending their honeymoon in Colorado.
