Pleasant Ridge
Maggie Hughes returned from South Dakota last week. Her many friends are glad to welcome her back after her long absence.
Arlo Huckstead went to Chicago with a carload of fine corn-fed lambs Saturday.
Mrs. Wm Swan came home yesterday, after making her sister, Mrs. Cameron of Iowa, a two weeks’ visit.
Rev. R. N. Toms will hold services at the church next Sunday.
Frank Vine is down from Rice Lake, visiting relatives and old friends.
About fifty of the young people of the Sabbath school gathered at the home of H. O. Huckstead and wife Thanksgiving afternoon and evening, where they were entertained by their several teachers. The time was passed pleasantly with games and music until about 6 p.m. when refreshments were served, after which the following program was rendered by the young people: Prayer—Ed. Einfeldt: Some Thanksgiving thoughts—Selwyn Toms: Recitation—Shadrack Brown’s turkey, Elsie Jahr: Song—Harold Huckstead: Reading—Thanksgiving Day, Gusta Sholtz: Music—Mrs. H. O. Huckstead: Oration—The Sunday School a Character Manufactory, Marvin Jahu: Song—Count your many Blessings: Recitation—A Christmas Home Coming, Mrs. Montie Wren: Reading—Mrs. H. O Huckstead: Song—Be a hero: Recitation—Sparticus to the Boarders, Selwyn Toms; Reading—A College Girl’s Thanksgiving, Amanda Kurth: Bible Reading—Ed. Einfeldt.
