Struck, Ralph J. (31 March 1919 - 11 December 2009)

Ralph J. Struck, 90, of Spencer died Friday evening, Dec. 11, 2009, at the Marshfield Care Center.

Ralph was born March 31, 1919, in Exland to Albert and Clara (Welk) Struck. He was united in marriage April 15, 1941, to Dorothy A. Seefeldt at Veefkind Lutheran Church in Spencer.  Before moving to Marshfield two years ago, Ralph and Dorothy farmed near Chili for 60 years.  Ralph was happiest playing in the dirt. A master gardener, he grew strawberries, red and black raspberries and prize-winning potatoes.  People at the farmers’ market always looked for Ralph’s delicious produce.  When not in the garden, Ralph was a craftsman and musician.  He loved to entertain people by playing one of his handmade guitars and singing.  Ralph was a member of Christ Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Marshfield, and daughter, Gayla (J. R.) Crosmer, of Cedar Rapids, IA.

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Alvin and Leonard Struck; and a sister, Myrtle Lindow.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009, at Christ Lutheran Church with Rev. Mark A. Krueger officiating.  Visitation was from 10 a.m. until the time of service.  Burial was in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Marshfield.

Memorials may be given to Christ Lutheran Church in Ralph’s memory.

Condolences may be sent online to www.rembsfh.com.
