Luchterhand, Ben A. (10 February 1895 - 9 January 1955) 
 

Ben A. Luchterhand, age 59, of Neillsville, Route 2, died January 9, 1955, at the Marshfield hospital, where he had been a patient the last three weeks.  He had submitted to surgery in October. 
 

Funeral services were held January 12 from the Bergemann Funeral Home, with the Rev. Alfred Schewe officiating.  Burial was in the Neillsville City Cemetery.  
 

Mr. Luchterhand was born February 10, 1895, to Carl and Hanna (Hoeftman) Luchterhand at Neillsville.  He had been a lifelong resident of Clark County and worked and lived around Neillsville. 
 

His marriage to Lena Lynch Sherman took place on June 24, 1942, at Neillsville. 
 

Surviving him besides his wife are one daughter, Mrs. James (Betty) Keller of Plymouth; and the following step-children: Mrs. John (Ella Mae) Krulatz, Madison; Gertrude Sherman, Union Grove; Merle Sherman, Edgerton; Glen Sherman, with the armed forces in Japan; and Wilbur Sherman of Chippewa Falls.  The following sisters also survive: Mrs. Phil Lang of Houghton, Mich.; Mrs. John Miller, Chassell, Mich.; and Mrs. Leslie Milton, Neillsville.

Funeral services for Ben Luchterhand, age 59, were held Wednesday afternoon, January 12, at 2:00 p.m. from the Bergemann Funeral Home.  The Rev. Alfred Schewe officiated, with burial taking place in the Neillsville City Cemetery. 
 

Pallbearers were: Charles Halbleib, Alvin Meihack, Frank Meihack, Ed Pollnow, Walter Pollnow and Glen White.  Vocalist was Wilfred Galstad accompanied by Mrs. Iris Randall at the piano. 
 

Close relatives from out of town attending the rites were: Miss Janice Milton, Marshfield; James Halbleib, Charles Halbleib, Chippewa Falls; Mr. and Mrs. John Krulatz, Madison, and Miss Gertrude Sherman of Union Grove, Wis.
