Lorenz, John (10 January 1878 - 14 January
1955)
Funeral services for John Lorenz, age 77, who
died January 14, at the home of Joseph Marth on route 2, were held
Monday Morning, January 17, 1955, from St. Mary’s Catholic
Church. The Rev. J. Maciulaitis officiated. Interment
was in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
The
body reposed at the Georgas Funeral home, where a general rosary
was held Sunday evening at 8 o’clock.
Mr.
Lorenz, who resided on Court Street, made his home with his sister
and brother-in-law for the past several months due to failing
health.
He
was born on January 10, 1878, at Neillsville to Michel and Anna
(Wentzel) Lorenz and received his education in the Neillsville
schools. As a young man he did carpenter work and worked at
this trade until failing health forced him to retire. He
never married and was a lifetime resident of
Neillsville.
He
is survived by one sister, Mrs. Joseph (Bertha) Marth of
Neillsville Route 2.
Pallbearers were: Gordon Frantz, Joseph Resong, Charles and Henry Hubing, Charles Schroeder and George Ziglinski.
