Resong, Anna (4 July 1877 - 7 February
1955)
Mrs. Anna Resong, age 77, of Rt. 3, Neillsville,
died early Monday morning, February 7, at her home near the city
limits. Death was attributed to a heart
attack.
Funeral services were held this morning
(Thursday) February 10, at 9:00 a.m. from St. Mary’s Catholic
Church. The Rev. Fr. Joseph Macuilaitis, assistant pastor of the
church, officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery. A
general rosary service was said at the Bergemann Funeral Home at
8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening. The Christian Mother’s
Society of the Church, of which Mrs. Resong was a member, attended
this service in a group.
Mrs. Resong was born July 4, 1877, at Neillsville
to August and Johanna Lipke. Her education was received in
the Neillsville schools and she had been a lifelong resident of
this community. Her marriage to Mathew Resong took place at
Neillsville in 1894.
Surviving her are the following children: Mrs.
Marcus (Johanna) Hoesly, Kewaskum; Mrs. Henry (Anna) Hoesly, Green
Bay; Joseph Resong, with whom she made her home; Mrs. Joseph
(Marie) Weber, Sheboygan; Albert Resong, Racine; John Resong,
Neillsville; also 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren,
and one brother, Frank Lipke of Neillsville.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic
Church and the Christian Mother’s Society of the
church.

A
requiem mass was read Thursday morning, February 10, 1955, for Mrs.
Anna Resong at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. The Rev. Fr.
Joseph Macuilaitis, assistant pastor of the church,
officiated. Burial was in the parish
cemetery.
The Christian Mothers Society of which Mrs.
Resong was a member, attended as a group.
Pallbearers were: Carl Kessler, Martin
Feuerstein, Henry Langreck, Paul Skroch, Joseph Wavrunek and Joseph
Zilk, Sr.
Close relatives from out of town attending the rites were: Mr. and Mrs. Marcus Hoesly, Kewaskum, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hoesly, Green Bay; Mrs. Joseph Weber, Sheboygan; Albert Resong, Racine; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Hoesly, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Rowe, Bloomer; and Mr. and Mrs. Peter Slattery, Madison.
