Heibel, Alice (12 November 1888 - February 1955) 
 

Word has been received of the death of Alice Andrus Heibel in February at her home in Leola, S. D.  She was a former Humbird girl and was 66 years of age at death. She had suffered with asthma and had been severely ill for some time. 
 

She was born November 12, 1888, and was next to the youngest of eight children born to the late Thomas and Alice Andrus.  She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Artie Hartman, Spokane, Wash., and Florence of Allegan, Mich.; also one brother, Thomas, Jr., of Allegan, Mich.   
 

The family owned and lived on the place now owned by Mr. and Mrs. Earl Zimmerman. 
 

Her husband, Lawrence Heibel, a well-to-do business man, died three years ago.  She has two children - Miles Blair and Florence Galster Krein.  
 

Alice was well-known to many older residents in and about Humbird.
