Goeden, Helen Mathilde (Oct 10,
1911)
Tuesday morning at 9:30 o’clock, Father
Dorrenbach united in marriage Mr. Edwin M. Bast and Miss Helen
Mathilde Goeden. The ceremony was performed at St.
Mary’s church. The bride and groom were attended by Miss
Johanna Goeden and John Bast and Miss Estella Bast and Wm.
Schiller. The flower girls were Lillian Gangler and Rose
Marx. The bride wore a beautiful gown of white messaline and
silk embroidered lace and a veil and carried white roses. The
flower girls carried pink carnations. The bridal party went
to the church in automobiles and after the ceremony returned to the
home of the bride where a reception and wedding dinner was held,
close friends and relatives of the contracting parties being
present. Tuesday evening a wedding dance was held at Holz
hall and was attended by many friends of the young
couple.
Mr.
Bast is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Jos. Bast and is engaged with his
father in the bakery business here. He is a young man of more
than ordinary sobriety and uprightness, is a splendid workman and
has the full confidence of his numerous friends. His bride is
a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Goeden. She is a young lady of
charming personality and her pleasant disposition has made her the
close friend of a large circle of young people. Mr. and Mrs. Bast
will make their home this winter with Mr. and Mrs. Goeden and in
the spring expect to start housekeeping.
Among those who were here from away for the wedding were:
Mr. and Mrs. G. Klopf and Miss Meta Klopf of Milwaukee; Mrs. M.B. Goeden, John Goeden and Miss Johanna Goeden of West Bend; Mr. and Mrs. Matt Goeden and son, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Chubb of Lynn; Mrs. Kate Miles and Mr. and Mrs. John Schmidt of Edgar; Joe Bishop and George Felshein of Arcadia.
