Cross, William D. (Sept 12, 1846 - Dec 12,
1911)
Wm.
D. Cross dropped dead in a lumber camp at Brinamwood on Tuesday,
Dec. 12th. The remains were brought here for
burial Monday. Mr. Cross was born in Pennsylvania, Sept 12,
1846. He came to Clark county with his brother, P.A. Cross,
in 1876, following the life of a lumberman most of the time.
He resided here for about 20 years, and since that time has been
engaged in the northern woods at various points. He was an
industrious and hard working man and during his residence here he
gained many friends. He is survived by his brother, P.A.
Cross, of the town of York.
The funeral occurred Tuesday afternoon, services being held at the Methodist church, and interment being made in the Neillsville cemetery.
