Winn, Bertha (Dec 28, 1911)
The
marriage of Miss Bertha Winn and Mr. P.F. Finner was solemnized at
the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Webb Winn, at 9
o’clock Thursday morning, December 28, 1911. Rev. F.M.
Prucia of the Neillsville church officiated. The wedding was
a very pretty though quiet affair, only near relatives of the
contracting parties being present. The rooms were prettily
decorated with roses and carnations, while the bride carried a
bouquet of lilies of the valley. The bride was attended by
her only sister, Miss Ruby, while Fred F. Finner, a brother of the
groom, was best man.
The
bride, a quiet, resourceful, accomplished young lady, is well known
to Granton people, having been born and brought up here. The
marriage is the result of a friendship formed while they were
attending school, each interested in the pursuit of knowledge and
both efficient teachers. He the principal of the schools at
Cassville and she to become his wife, has just resigned a position
in the Neillsville public schools.
Though a stranger to most of us Mr. Finner is a
man of pleasant address and with educational ability, well
qualified to care for the bonny bride he has so wisely
chosen. The young couple left on the noon train for a visit
to several places in the western part of the state including the
home of the groom’s parents at Arcadia. They will be at
home in Cassville by the middle of January. The news offers
congratulations and best wishes.
Among the out of town guests in attendance at the weddings were the groom’s two brothers, Fred F., a student, and E.R., an instructor at the University of Wisconsin. - Granton News
