Burzynski, Florian (27 April 1922 - 19 December
2009)
Florian Burzynski, 87, of Gilman, died Saturday,
December 19, 2009, at the Gilman Care Center. He was born on
April 27, 1922 in Thorp, the son of the late Adolph and Cecelia
(Olejniczak) Burzynski. He graduated from Thorp High in 1940
and grew up in the area. Florian married Rose Brandt on August 19,
1944 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in
Gilman.
He
farmed for many years in the Town of Ford and later ran the
Burzynski Insurance Agency until retirement. He also founded
the Gilman Area Credit Union.
Florian enjoyed playing baseball in his early
years, his Canadian fishing trips, hunting, and was an avid
golfer.
He
is survived by his wife of 65 years, Rose; his children: Lawrence
(Anna) Burzynski of Palm Springs, CA, Elizabeth (Marshal) Harris of
Desert Palms, CA, Barbara (Randy) Ahlers of Eau Claire, Mary Ann
(Arthur) Krull of Eau Claire and John Burzynski of Gilman; eight
grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three sisters: Phyllis
Kotlowski of Adams, WI, Eleanor Winger of DePere, WI, and Loretta
Smith of Sun City, AZ.
Florian is preceded in death by his parents; and
his brothers: Frank and Edward.
A
funeral Mass was held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 22, 2009
at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Gilman. Father John
Long officiated. Friends called from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at
the church.
The Gilman Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
