Pekol, Helen (20 April 1880 - 6 April
1955)
Mrs. Helen Pekol, a resident of Willard for 42
years, died of a heart attack at the Greenwood Clinic at 2 p.m.
Wednesday. She was 74 years old.
Mrs. Pekol was born April 20, 1880, in
Yugoslavia. She was married to Joseph Pekol, who preceded her
in death in 1948.
The
Pekols came to Willard from Joliet, Ill., in 1913. They
retired from farming in 1938 and moved to town.
She
is survived by four sons - Joseph, Jr., of Chicago; Frank of
Neillsville, and Stanley and Ed, both of Willard; three daughters,
Mrs. Louis (Helen) Zulich of Loyal, Mrs. John (Julia) Permic of
Willard and Sister M. Imelda of Pittsburgh, Pa; 19 grandchildren
and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday at 10 a.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard with the Rev. Fr. Augustine Svete officiating. Burial took place in the parish cemetery. Her six grandsons were pallbearers. They are Stanley, Jim and Frank Pekol, Stanley and Robert Permic and Ralph Debevec.
